Nyami Gawbarringam Womens Health Centre Mural

Completed in late 2022, I facilitated the design and implimentation process with the Bowraville Barlwrungga Nyami Gawbarrigam women's art group. The mural was designed and painted through deep local research, yarning, and storytelling led by Indigenous women, Elders, and participating artists. The work features ancestral traditions, local land animals, and regional bush medicine. The Mural also depicts three Gumbaynggirr women walking 40km to Bellingen, honouring local mothers who had to make the journey on foot because hospital maternity care was refused in Bowraville.
